Promoting psychological and social approaches to psychosis

Welcome to ISPS Australia

We are the Australian branch of The International Society for Psychological and Social Approaches to Psychosis. ISPS Australia was first incorporated in 2013, so we are new in Australia, although the international organisation has been slowly growing over the last 60 years.

We are currently a small group of volunteer Board Directors but believe that from little things big things can grow. We hope to join together Australians who have a passion or interest in the importance of psychological and social approaches to psychosis so we can ensure that those who experience psychosis or extreme states get the support and understanding they need to make sense of their experience and move through it effectively.

We offer messages of hope that it is possible to be supported through extreme states. Our website offers a space to find information about psychological and social approaches to psychosis and a means to connect with others in Australia who have an interest in this area. Here you will find a forum for members to exchange information, ideas, and experiences, and resources that provide information about news, events, training, research and interventions.

We hope you find this website useful – and for those who are not members, we invite you to learn more about what we do and join up to become involved!

Acknowledgement of Country

ISPS Australia acknowledges Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises the continuing connection to lands, waters and communities.

We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past and present.

“We acknowledge Aboriginal sovereignty has never been ceded. We acknowledge the gravity of the work needed to be done to undo the continuing impacts of colonisation committed in these lands. May we continue to work for the flourishing of all, may we continue to learn our history, may we continue to care for Country, and each other.”
