In this 90-minute live webinar Dr Sarah Bendall will briefly review current knowledge on prevalence of trauma in those with psychosis, and mechanisms between psychosis, PTSD and other trauma-related symptoms. She will focus her presentation on the evidence for trauma-focused treatments in psychosis and present a model of trauma-informed care developed for early psychosis services.

Sarah Bendall

Dr Sarah Bendall is a clinical psychologist and associate professor at Orygen and the University of Melbourne. She researches trauma informed care in youth mental health, trauma in early psychosis and the development of new psychological therapies for recovery in youth mental health. She is the author of over 80 research papers and three psychological treatment manuals. She has practiced as a clinical psychologist for over 20 years in a variety of settings including adult and adolescent outpatient mental health. She currently practices at headspace and provides clinical supervision for psychologists working in headspace services.
